We’re in a world today much different from the world of John Adams time where all bodies of government needed to be located in one city, the Capitol, for the logistical convenience of communication. In the early 1800’s when construction of the White House and Capitol Buildings were completed; there were no fax machines, cell phones, satellite systems or internet for the governing bodies to communicate with; thus the need for each body of government to be close to the other; easily reached by foot or horseback. In fact, only 1.6 miles separates the two structures with the Pentagon [military centre], located just across the Potomac River. The construction materials of the Capitol Building and White House were that of Aquia Creek sandstone, quarried at Wigginton Island. Very strong and able to survive damage that may occur from the weapon systems of the day - musket rifles and cannon balls – which may have been lethal to anyone sustaining a direct hit but certainly not the case with a stone constructed building. Washington’s Capital Building and White House were built well for the time and served their purpose, however the construction techniques, materials and design would not serve well from a direct hit from a modern day weapon and certainly not nearly capable of surviving a modern nuclear attack. Unlike the days of the Cold War where nuclear weapons were only in the possession of Superpowers; today’s reality is that of rogue third world nations developing nuclear technologies and weapons. Perhaps much less yielding weapons than those of the Superpowers, but devastating all the same. The Superpowers of the Cold War were protected by the idea of mutual destruction, an idea that is foreign to Islāmic extremists who believe that in dying for the cause, a better afterlife will await. The Superpowers were concerned about high-tech delivery systems, rockets, submarines and such, much different from hostile third world countries who tend toward crude yet efficient means to deliver destruction as was in evidence with the tragedy of 9/11. Nine eleven is the shot across the bow; a shot that must be heard! Nine Eleven’s intent was to decapitate the head from the body; to take out the financial center in the towers [a complete success], the military center with the Pentagon [a partial success] and the Government, which Pennsylvania Flight 93 was bound but for the grace of God and the actions of those brave passengers, was downed before reaching its target. With the likes of North Korea in possession of nukes, Iran openly developing them and the precarious nature of the nuclear arsenal in Pakistan and the threat of that arsenal falling into the hands of Islāmic extremists; nuclear terrorist attacks are not only a reality but likely! Washington is a target rich environment with all the eggs in one basket begging to be hit. It is for this reason that I feel the day of all Governing bodies being located in one State –let alone one city – should be over. The threat of extinguishing the Government and Military centers of the greatest country on earth with one nuclear bullet, is too great! We learned in 1963 that an assassin’s bullet can take out the most powerful man – President John Kennedy – the action of which depressed multi-millions in a nation and the world. Imagine how demoralizing, how devastating the effect would be to have the same assassination take place to the United States government! It is time to place the Senate, Congress and White House in different locations throughout the country. The idea of a beltway is over; the technologies and advanced communication systems of today more than replace the horse and buggy of old D.C.
With today’s threat, we can’t afford to horse around.

Who’s Business Is It Anyway?
A business woman called into a talk-radio program sometime back, leaving quite an impression on me. She spoke about her and her husband’s upset; not so much with Obama’s winning of the election but more so their employee’s reaction to his winning, that of jubilation and what her employees felt it meant. She said that many of their employees had openly expressed how Obama’s winning and his call for “change” would now bring fairness to the country; that the rich would finally be getting their’s, be made to pay more. Of course her and her husband being owners of the business knew that they were included in this “rich” category; she knew that many saw their affluent lifestyle, the cars they drove and the house they lived in and felt perhaps envious of their wealth or upset that it was somehow gotten through improper means or on the back of their labours. What she wanted the host, his audience and her employees to know however, was how she and her husband had been working their business for 20 plus years, that it was not a instant success. There were many occasions in the first decade of their existence where they weren’t sure there would be an existence. It had looked like they were going to go under several times; twice being forced to sell their home in order to utilize the equity or down size to keep things afloat. That many years of their 20 plus, they made far less than their employees and had struggled through losing periods of being in the red to keep them in their employ. Unlike the employees, her and her husband didn’t have the luxury of going home, leaving job and stress behind. She told of how her husband to this day, spends most evenings working on the business, burning the midnight oil only to retire to a sleepless night due to worry. Today their business is considered by most to be successful; they enjoy an income that most would say is substantial and the lifestyle that comes with it but it didn’t come easy or fall into their lap. They worked very hard for what they have, worried many a year off their lives and know all-to-well that through currency and market fluctuations, high interest rates, bank failures, changes in law, poor political leadership, ideological tampering or as Obama puts it, “fundamental change,” that their business and its success can all fall away. Her story made it very clear to me that a business person is a very special breed; they are the leaders, the creators, the visionaries, the risk takers and life blood of our country. Maybe just maybe, we should understand that fact and thank those who create the jobs we enjoy instead of making them out to be the villain.

The Perfect Example
The Perfect Example
This is an example of how socialism works: A successful business man called the Limbaugh Show; he told Rush about this discussion with his Liberal Democrat wife. He said that his wife, who is studying to be a Doctor, was talking about the Obama programs and his fairness through socialism/ medical and such and the fairness of taxing the rich and income redistribution. He said he asked his wife, who studies hard and gets great marks, that if she studied for an exam with a passing grade at 80% and she got a 100% does she think it would be right for the Professor to take 20 points off her mark and give them to a fellow student who’s mark was only 60%? Her answer was of course, no! He said why, you only needed 80% to pass and you got a 100%, 20% more than required; you don’t need those extra points [profit], he does, so I think it would only be fair to give those who don’t have a passing grade your and other overachiever’s extra points to make them pass! Her answer to this was that if that was the case, she obviously wouldn’t put the same effort into her studies if she knew it would be taken and given to someone else, not only that but it isn’t going to raise the bar of effort or quality of work for those who get her grade points. The truth is, that the same holds true in society, that if you take away from those who through talent or labour have achieved, then those who once worked hard will no longer feel a need to invest time, money or resources bringing everything down to the lower often failure level. Society as a whole suffers as is the case in European countries; who by the way have seen their failures and are electing Conservatives into power.

Breaking News or Broken News
Breaking News or Broken News
What is happening with the trust the press was given to report accurate information? I read some stats that are very revealing as to how the media has taken on a very Liberal slant and has done so at least since Reagan. Take these stats: Ronald Reagan inherited Carter’s 21% plus interest rates, 81/2% unemployment, a government created gas shortage and rationing, a system called the Misery Index that measured the hardship everyone was going through and successfully laid the blame straight out of the gate on Reagan’s shoulders. The negative stories on Reagan in his first year in office[?], 91%!
In the Reagan years it was norm for the press to add that if you count all those who have given up looking for work, have run out of unemployment benefits, or are students which want work but live at home thus not counted, that the “Real Unemployment” was 12%.
So far in Obama’s first year in office only 7% of the stories about him and his performance are negative.
Obama, with the press’s backing, has blamed Bush too many times to count with full agreement and no question from the press; unemployment has gone past the 8% he said the Stimulus would not let it pass to an eye popping 9.7% with little mention let alone utilizing the “Real Unemployment” formula that shows it at a staggering 17%!
For a people to make real decisions real information needs to be assimilated and no matter who is in office or no matter their popularity it is important that the press measures them with a questioning eye.

“Boy, Oh Boy” Obama Racism?
“Boy Oh Boy” Obama Racism!
When will the Liberal ever stop? Hopefully never! The Democrats latest blunder is the [R] Joe Wilson’s shout out to Obama – “you lie.” Did you hear a “Boy” in there? No, neither did I but the Liberals did! In an age where a Black-man is elected as President, an act that could not have happened but for the majority of Whites voting him in, pundits from the left are claiming racism is alive and well in America. As a Liberal friend said to me the other day, “He [Wilson] may not have said “boy” but I feel he had racism in his heart.” How can you hear something that wasn’t and then after not hearing it, claim to know what they meant? Apparently the Liberals can! They can understand what isn’t happening but can’t understand what is; their getting into office on the hopes of a post-racial America. An America that is center-right and mostly White voted in large numbers for a far left Liberal Black-man arguably in the hopes of healing the shame of the past. The Liberals to their credit, succeeded in picking a candidate of color and Obama to his, came through with the power of his personality and his talent for making a speech; the problem? The Liberals have been making hay through racism for decades, successfully waving that banner over the heads of Conservatives; it’s their bread and butter issue, an industry that has put many a Liberal in office and made many a Liberal wealthy. If you made your wealth in researching for a cure for cancer, you may say outwardly that you’re looking for a cure but your hopes are you’ll never find it. If the cure is found the money is lost; this is the Liberal dilemma. In homage to the great “liar,” Teddy Kennedy, whose masterful display of character assassination succeeded in bringing down Robert Bork for the Supreme Court and who wrote the play book on the “race-card” for Liberals to follow; Liberals like Maureen Dowd and Jimmy Carter, few of the many who wish to fan the embers of racism back to the glory days of old. White America is no fool and this is where the Liberal has gone wrong. Whites are watching them take the pride they had for themselves in having elected Obama, a pride on display in the polling numbers which show that although America is against Obama’s policies they are still for him. Obama’s own silence is deafening; this race baiting could easily be put to rest with one speech proclaiming the Dowd’s and Carter’s of the world wrong. Obama won’t though! He won’t and even if he does, unlike his immediate response to the Officer Crowley, Gates issue – siding with the Black-man over the White officer – his response will come off now as more of a political ploy rather than anything sincere.
The truth is this, is that Dowd and any other who heard “boy” in the calling of Obama a “liar” … are being intellectually dishonest. I would go as far as to say that anyone who accuses such as having a racist slant is in fact exercising a form of racism themselves; the wishing to exacerbate the problem rather than to fight it.
We Conservatives must be thankful for the idiocy of the Liberal; they forever shoot themselves in the foot and they do so while it’s still in their mouth.
