Limbaugh: Won’t Let Liberal Dogs Lie.
Rush Limbaugh has been in the Liberal cross-hairs for over 20 plus years; the Grand Poobah of Conservatives and the King of Talk Radio [twenty-two million listeners], it would be only natural for his enemies on the Left and those jealous of his reign on the Right, to take aim. One of the things that makes Limbaugh so popular, is the way Rush is able to manipulate the Liberal elite and “drive-by” media with his skill of setting the trap. He seemingly knows the Liberal better than they know themselves, giving him unfettered access under their skin which he so brilliantly accomplishes through monologue and parody. There is rarely an hour, let alone a day that passes where Maha Rushie hasn’t had the Left brought to a fevered froth over something he has purportedly said. As a listener one almost gets a feeling that Rush, much like a mischievous practical joker, is letting us in on the prank, giving a nudge, nudge, wink, wink before pulling their strings. We recognise the cue, take glee in the execution and anxiously await the inevitably inept salvo the Left always brings in reaction, serving most times in only exposing their idiocy further through impotent ploys of feigned outrage, taking out of context, exaggerating or embellishing his points, misrepresenting his meaning or motive, in other words, “lying.” These tactics are taken (the never addressing of the actual), in the hopes of discrediting him enough to strike a death blow to his throne. In twenty plus years the Left have aimed countless times and failed to hit meat; more often than not their rage furthers as example of the absurdity of their ideological barrenness providing more fodder for Limbaugh’s wit and cutting analysis. The Left’s crazed hate and failure to diminish him, has driven them to seek other avenues in taking Limbaugh and the lesser copies of him off the air. They have released trial balloons suggesting some form of the old [FCC] Fairness Doctrine which was introduced in 1949 and denounced under Reagan administration, as violating the First Amendment of free speech, be brought back. As is typical, the Liberals are seemingly caught in a contradiction through such an action. Admission through passing of a Doctrine would suggests a level of credibility, legitimacy in Limbaugh as a viable disseminator and source of information that needs to be balanced; yet when pinned down by Limbaugh on a point of pertinence, the Liberals claim him to be nothing more than a mere entertainer, a clown who’s significance is questionable and opinion farce. The Liberals in taking action, passing of a Doctrine, do so at the peril of losing what little credibility they have left. CNN, CBS, ABC, NBC, MSNBC, not to mention the legions of print media, all exercise what is obviously a strong Left Wing bias in reporting the so-called legitimate news. On the entertainment side the same holds true with the likes of Saturday Night Live and Thirty Rock, definitely Left, and cable’s Jon Stewart’s Daily Show and Steven Colbert’s Colbert Report, both programs hosted by unapologetic Liberals. HBO’s program, Real Time with Bill Maher, takes it much further than the likes of Stewart and Colbert. There is no governor put on Maher’s venomous hate for the Right, America or its people, yet Maher has no problem getting high ranking Liberal elites booked on his show. Maher, Colbert and Stewart are held in high regard by the Left as being hip comedy with no mention to fairness or doctrines needed.
So why is a Doctrine needed for Rush?
Well, the truth of the matter about Limbaugh, and what bothers Liberals most about him, is the truth of the matter. In the 15 plus years I’ve been a listener, I’ve never once found Limbaugh to speak anything other than the truth; his opinions based in fact are almost always right (he claims audited @ 99.1% of the time), and his predictions more often than not, come to pass. It is the “truth” that is the foundation of Limbaugh as much of importance as the manner in which he delivers it. It is this foundation of truth that has kept – the Vast Right Winged Contingency – of “Ditto-Heads” loyal to the Rush Limbaugh program; they can trust that he will always represent them well with no fear of embarrassment. They know the man as one of them; a man with deep love of country and the Constitution by which it was founded. Unlike the Liberal, Limbaugh understands the importance of the actual words the Founders placed on the parchment, with no need to read things into the nothingness between them. Like Reagan, he understands and promotes the greatness of America through the Freedom’s those words provide and what the Founders knew to be truth; that a free people will be more creative, more inventive, more prosperous thus more likely to find happiness; that a more powerful Government, means a less powerful people. While Liberals go on their never ending quest “witch hunt” towards Limbaugh and Conservatives, their credibility along with their media viewership and readership are plummeting. The louder they yell the smaller their voice becomes, all the while Limbaugh and all things Conservative: Talk Radio, books, and television are enjoying huge success or as El Rushbo says, “growing by leaps and bounds.”
